Barbay Consulting
About Barbay Consulting
- 20 years industry Experience in ASIC Verfiication and embedded firmware
for audio(Isochronous USB handheld audio players), disc drives(ATA and
SCSI, and imaging products(digital still camera).
- I've been frequently called a "bridge person" because I bridge the gap
between hardware and software -- working on chip architecture,
verification, tools, writing the actual firmware and bringing up new
hardware. Single Point SourceTM is my software version of "bridging" the
gap between groups. It is currently being updated for the IP-XACT
standard.
- Modeling experience with VHDL (wrote a 80C196 fully functionally model
with the ability to run 'C' tests in simulation - over 13 years ago!) , IrDA,
RS232-UART I2S, S/PDif, I2c, and many Imaging tools (Bayer to RGB
Interpolation, CMOS Sensor modelling, Decimation and matching
algortihms written for the DSP, Defective Pixel Correction by myself on the
customized DSP).
- DSP cycle accurate modelling for custom video DSP (VLIW and SIMD)
written in C++.
- Board bring-up of new silicon and new RDK (Reference Design Kit) or
SDK(Software Design kit).
- To make developing systems easier, I have developed many tools such as
SPS.
- CSR BlueLab/StereoHeadset IDE & Tools (both Kalimba DSP & VM) for
porting C motion estimation through an accelerometer and transmitting
with Bluetooth.
- TI 6713, Code Composer and TI RTOS as a system controller with an in-
house FPGA for audio enhancements.
- Strong Python Experience writing and updating an existing tool for
Common Register Information (my forte in life). Every auto-generated test
caught at least one bug per module.
- FPGA (Actel and Altera). This consulting group is working on an Altera
Developmet Board with an ARM Cortex and the Kiel Debugger
- StrongExperience in SystemVerilog -VMM, OVM, and OVL and member of
Spirit Consortium of the RDWG - thus having access to IP-XACT 1.5 and
System RDL.
- Precise RTOS with embedded ARC microprocessor for a custom SoC for
audio devices (using Isochronous USB
- Developing Android Applications using their SDK and Emulators with the
Android Plug-in for Eclipse (Java based).
